NYSDDPC Announces Available Grant for Pilot Transit Accessibility Program
The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) announced last week the availability of  funding to select one grantee in the amount of $200,000 ($100,000 per year for a two-year period) to create the Transit Research & Accessibility Center (TRAC). TRAC will develop and pilot a transit accessibility evaluation program that utilizes a stakeholder informed and developed curriculum, create and maintain a user-generated online regional transit rating database, and inform transit agencies of steps to improve accessibility.
