NYSDDPC Announces Available Grant for Pilot Transit Accessibility Program
The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) announced last week the availability of  funding to select one grantee in the amount of $200,000 ($100,000 per year for a two-year period) to create the Transit Research & Accessibility Center (TRAC). TRAC will develop and pilot a transit accessibility evaluation program that utilizes a stakeholder informed and developed curriculum, create and maintain a user-generated online regional transit rating database, and inform transit agencies of steps to improve accessibility. U.S. Department of Transportation Announces $211 Million in Grants for New Buses, Facilities to Improve Bus Service Nationwide
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) last week announced the selections for its Bus and Bus Facilities Grant Program that will help provide more modern, reliable bus service for transit riders across the country.

TransLoc Expands to Support Safer Campuses Across 87 Universities
TransLoc recently announced it will provide approximately 1.5 million students across 87 U.S. colleges access to safer and more reliable transportation during the 2016-2017 school year. TransLoc’s university customers will use powerful transit management tools that allow campuses to meet their safety goals and give students confidence in their transportation options at all time. A couple of the New York state schools featured among the 87 are Colgate and New York University.
