NYPTA is proud to invite you to participate in the 2016 Transportation and Maintenance Roadeo on September 24, 2016 at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Jamaica, NY. Hosted by the the Metropolitan Transportation Authority NYC Bus Operations, the Roadeo has two competitions, one for bus operators and one for bus mechanics. CDTA Board Approves Commitment To Pursue BRT LINE
The Capital District Transportation Authority Board of Directors approved the local financial commitment required by the FTA to move the River Corridor Bus Rapid Transit line through the next phase of the Federal Small Starts program.

Governor Andrew Cuomo Announces RFP For New, Re-imagined Subway Cars
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has issued a Request For Proposals for 1,025 new and redesigned subway cars The proposal requests that the entire process with the cars is as cost effective and environmentally friendly as possible.

U.S. DOT ANNOUNCES WINNERS IN DEPLOYMENT OF CLEAN BUSES GRANT
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration announced selections for an expanded Low or No Emission Bus Competitive Grant Program. There will be twenty transit providers in thirteen states that will receive a portion of the $55 million grant for transit buses adn associated technology. Among the recipients is New York State's very own Capital District Transit Authority.

Greater Cleveland RTA Runs Smooth Despite Convention Traffic 
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority had prepared to have a record week of ridership as over 50,000 people came to Cleveland for th Republican Convention. However, ridership was not at capacity and everything ran quite smoothly.
